Annalise will have to finish ahead of her three main rivals, Lijia Xu from China, Marit Bouwmeester from the Netherlands and Evi van Acker from Belgium, to get a medal.
Looks windy enough, 10 seconds to go
A safe enough start by Annalise
Chinese girl has made a severe move to the right
Meanwhile, Ger Owens and Scott Flanigan are in 25th place, about 3 minutes and 23 seconds behind the leaders in the men's 470 race.
Annalise in 4th at the moment.
That move seems to have paid off for the Chinese girl. If it stopped now, Annalise would miss out on a medal but she's fourth and it's very early days.
Lijia Xu from China leads Evi van Acker from Belgium in second.
Annalise still fourth but gone ahead of Bouwmeester which would give her a bronze.
Van Acker is now following Xu. It was a very brave move by the Chinese girl to go out on her own and it seems to have worked. Xu and Van Acker 1st and 2nd now. I repeat though, Murphy has gotten ahead of Bouwmeester and that would be a medal. Still 25 minutes of sailing.
Brilliant by Annalise, she leads!!
Annalise gets round first......
Come on you bloody daisy, I'm welling up. It's too early, god damn.
Oh my God I am so nervous....
Chinese girl has been yellow flagged which means she has to do a penalty turn.
Annalise has dropped off the pace big time in that beat... what happened there?
Second mark sees Annalise round in 9th ahead of the Belgian girl.
Maybe she will learn from that leg to sail the other side of the course.
She was only 13 seconds behind the leader at the second mark.
Annalise has moved up to 8th.
That was some drop. Eight places. Didn't take long for me to be deflated there. Bouwmeester is the target now, two places clear of her at the moment.
She was first in this leg last time, can she catch up?
Belgium all the way to the right.
Annalise has turned tight around the mark in 2nd.....Brilliant!!!!
She is some fighter. Annalise second and in silver medal position at the moment!!! Come on!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Belgian is 4th and the Dutch girl is 8th.
