Afternoon everybody and welcome to today's Premier League coverage. Arsenal have just comprehensively defeated Spurs 5-2 at the Emirates, Manchester United travel to Norwich at 5.30 but our focus today, along with the rest of the 3pm kick-offs is Liverpool v Wigan.

Irish eyes will be peeled on James McCarthy in the Wigan midfield today but looking at the wide picture, it's about time Liverpool start putting together some good results at Anfield? -
So the teams are out at Anfield and it looks like Liverpool are going all Serie A on us by playing three at the back.

3' - Glen Johnson wins the first corner of the afternoon for the home side. Sterling takes it short to Suarez and half a dozen passes follow before Liverpool waste it and Wigan have a goal-kick

7' - Liverpool have started well. Enrique has just shot wide from the edge of the area and Wigan haven't really got to grips quite yet.

10' - Suarez dances forward, crosses from the left and Gary Caldwell almost hacks into his own net. Liverpool have another corner and it's swung into the six-yard box and Agger's effort is deflected for another. Souza whips that one in but it comes to nothing., hoofed clear by the Wigan defender at the near post.

GOAL FLASH! Wigan have taken the lead at home to Chelsea and guess who got it...

GOAL FLASH 2! Everton have gone ahead away to Reading, Steven Naismith with the strike

Meanwhile, back at Anfield it remains scoreless but Pepe Reina hasn't had a tap to do yet.

14' - Caldwell drives way over after Kone lay-off, Reina's first piece of action is to take a goal-kick.

18' - Solid Glen Johnson work earns Liverpool a fourth corner. Souza takes, nobody attacks it and Gerrard crosses back in from the right. Comes to nothing and Wigan break. Kone shoots and Reina is down to save.

20' - Figueroa concedes a free, it's swung in by Gerrard and Liverpool have another corner after McCarthy gets a touch. Souza, yet again, takes it. It's cleared as far as Johnson and he fires over.

22' - With a deflection for another corner, may I add. Gerrard delivers this time and Agger nods over.

23' - Suso watches his shot saved by Al Habsi. Good stuff from Liverpool but just can't find that final touch.

Rickie Lambert gives the Saints the lead in an early relegation six-pointer -
25' - Sterling and Watson collide and the latters goes down in a heap and looks to be in severe pain, clutching his shin.

28' - Watson is in agony and is being helped off, with boos from the home crowd. Do they not realise he's in severe pain? Nutters.

29' - Ramis takes the free that follows. It comes off the wall and Wigan have a corner. It comes to nothing, however, poor delivery.

32' - Suzo heads a Johnson cross towards goal but he can't connect correctly and directs the nod over.

Of the six 3pm games, we've only got three goals so far. It's been like that this season at times, with goal rushes in the second half. Fully expecting the same today.

34' - Wigan win a free 25 yards out but tis wasted by Figueroa. All power, no accuracy.

44' - Chance for Liverpool as Suarez fires the ball across the goal from the right and Al Habsi just about does enough to smother the danger.

45' - Bloody nose for Joe Allen as we head into injury time. Meanwhile, Caldwell heads away a Johnson cross to concede ANOTHER corner.

Jason gives QPR a PUNCHE-ON the face as Southampton double their lead just before the interval. -

Liverpool lead and I've been woken up. Unsurprisingly, it's Suarez again. Terrible defending from Wigan, Sterling nips in, finds Suarez and he swipes his right boot through the ball and into the net. -
GOAL FLASH! QPR 1-2 Southampton
Junior Hoilett pulls one back for QPR at home to Southampton -
GOAL FLASH! Man City 2-0 Aston Villa
City double their lead against Villa, who must really hate the Manchester teams after last week and this afternoon. Sergio Aguero finished from the spot. Game over, surely? -
GOAL FLASH! WBA 2-1 Chelsea
West Brom go ahead again thanks to Peter Odemwingie.
GOAL FLASH 2! Reading 1-1 Everton
Adam Le Fondre pulls one back for Reading at home to Everton -
55' - Wigan really need to produce something better here if they're to get back into it. Even after a goal, it's been pretty mundane.

Carlos Tevez scores for City and they might as well take a rest now, with a half hour to play. Game over. -

Wigan are brutal. Sterling and Suarez combine to feed to Enrique and he finishes easily to make it 3-0.

Aguero gets his second and City's fourth. -

Tevez gets his second for City. Villa bury their heads in the Eastlands pitch. -
72' - Liverpool winning with such ease here that Reina could have a kip and Agger could have a chat with some fans in the Kop before Wigan realise they have a chance to shoot.

The tide has turned on Merseyside with Liverpool winning easily and now Everton falling behind at Reading. Adam Le Fondre nets his second of the afternoon with a penalty. -
It's all calming down a bit now at Anfield. Liverpool coasting, Man City walking but the other games all remain close with only a goal between them.

87' - Final Liverpool sub as Suarez, who won't be getting a hat-trick now, comes off for Shelvey.

So that's it for the 3pm kick-offs, and subsequently, our blog.
The big shock was West Brom beating Chelsea, but when you have Shane Long in such good form.... Elsewhere, City ran rampant at home to Villa, Liverpool were too hot for Wigan in our featured game, while Swansea got the better of Newcastle and Southampton were too good for QPR. Last but not least, Reading came from behind to beat Everton at home. -
Reports will be live on the side over the next half hour, so keep your eyes peeled for that - as well as a report later tonight from Carrow Road for Norwich v Manchester United.
Oh, and we shall be reporting from the rugby too.
